Chances of getting into CSULB?
Hi,
I know that the chances of me getting into CSULB aren't very high considering the fact that I live in northern California, my SAT scores aren't very great, AND I applied for pre-nursing (which is extremely impacted). However, I do want a second opinion.
My unweighted GPA: 3.83
My weighted GPA: 4.08
CSU GPA: 3.91
SAT Scores: 1150 (on my second test, I did worse, but my essay score was 7/7/7... I heard essay scores don't really matter, but maybe it'll be taken into consideration?)

Chances of acceptance? California Resident
I'm kinda scared that I'm not gonna get accepted into Long Beach cuz I'm not from that area in California.
I live in the Bay Area aka Northern California. My scores and GPA aren't terrible:
SAT (redesigned): 1300
GPA (the number that showed up on the CSU application): 3.83. Apparently this is because of a glitch but idk.
GPA weighted: 4.0 (from grades 10 and 11)....this is the GPA that should've shown up
GPA Unweighted: 3.76 (grades 10 and 11)
Eligibility index, using my 4.0 GPA: 4500
Eligibility index, using CSU application generated GPA of 3.38: 4364
In terms of all of this, I'm more than eligible for this University.
I took 3 AP exams, and got two 3s and one 4.
I also took 1 dual enrollment course my junior year, got a C, and 2 courses my senior year, and got an A and B.
But ahhhh I'm so scared cuz I read an article that said they give priority to local residents, with super low SAT and ACT scores like a 1300 and 17, respectively. And GPAs a whole grade point lower than mine.
Is anyone in a similar situation?
Also, how bad of grades can I get senior year? I already got 2 Cs my first semester, both in AP courses, which probably looks bad but oh well. The rest of them are As.

When does CSULB decision come out?
On their "portal," they said "decisions" will begin coming out in February. I did some research and there's a mixture of different time frames in which they sent them out previous years. Some came in March, late February, early February, or even January. Did any of you guys received an acceptance letter yet?

Csulb, I made a mistake on application
Okay i really want to go to csulb but i made a mistake on the csu app. I took democracy last semester and now im taking economics this semester. However i only listed democracy and put that i plan to take it 2nd semester (which is false) and completely forgot to list economics. The date already passed for csulb to make corrections to the application. I emailed csulb and am waiting on a reply. Is this really bad or not a big deal?

CSULB 2018 acceptance rate change this year???
A record breaking high for CSULB this year as a total of 102,000 applicants applied. They stated that they will only accept 8.5k students. I am confused how this is possible? 8,500/102,000 = 8.3% acceptance rate? I did my research on previous years and they were about 34% acceptance rates, so out of 60,000 applicants, 19,000+ got accepted. I just dont understand how it can be even lower this year?
I can understand if there is an association if the more number of applicants the lower the admitted rate is, but I dont get why it's not about 20,000 admitted but it's only 8,500?

Lying in Fafsa?
Hey guys, just curious as to what would happen if you lied in your fafsa renewal? For example, for the part where you have to input how much you made for the past year, what if you were to say you earned nothing but did? Meaning you filed for taxes the year before and are now in the new year renewing your fafsa and reporting that you had $0 income? Could this delay your FA or ultimately cancel for lying? Just wondering

I submitted my application to Cal State Long Beach on November 11th, and I’ve only recently been told that I’ve met minimum requirements for admission. My online service says that CSULB will begin sending out acceptance letters this month but I’m wondering if anyone else has received theirs yet? The major I applied for was illustration.

Hello, for my CSU application I put that as my race. I checked the CSU diversity racial chart and saw that it only make up 8% of CSULB. Does this hurt my chances of admittance?

Hybrid Business Administration at CSULB
When i applied to CSULB all the business administration classes were under the hybrid category. What percentage of my classes will actually be hybrid? Are all business classes or most hybrid? Or is it just an option to add hybrid classes?
I'm a transfer student and will be a junior for spring 2018. My major will be international business. Though it seems like all the business administration concentrations are hybrid.

Freshman Housing Exemption
My daughter was just admitted. We live within 25 miles of campus and are going to apply for the housing exemption for her to live at home her freshman year. Is it pretty much a rubber stamp? She also has medical issues we could sumbit.

Has anyone else gotten accepted yet? I’ve seen a lot of posts about people being accepted since Feb 13th, but I haven’t gotten anything yet. My friend got in last year and said they accept in rounds.
