So I'm currently taking precalc right now as a high school senior and am wondering if I will be placed into business calc or regular calc at Csulb. I want to take business calc because its a requirement for my major but on mycsulb account currently it has the ALEKS test set up and I was wondering if I had to take that because I heard its for STEM students only. And if I took that test and passed would that mean I'm eligible to take business calc?

I'm looking at my MyCSULB and I was wondering what I should do about my financial aid. I'll be living on campus so my estimated Financial Aid budget according to them is $24,568.00 and that my estimated need is $20,539.00. However I'm only being offered $13,287.00 including Cal State Grants and the Pell Grant, and I'm worried about having to pay the rest out of pocket. They say my parents' expected contribution is $4,029.00 but I'm not sure where they're getting that information because my parents aren't going to pay at all for any of my tuition. Should I attend CSULB or go to CC?
So CSULB was the only school I got into besides being waitlisted at Cal Poly Slo and my top choice school, UCSB. I appealed to UCSB but am very doubtful I'll get off their waitlist. I'm currently trying to decide on whether I should commit to CSULB for kinesiology or just go to community college and transfer to a UC. I mainly applied to CSULB as a back up school and was really hoping I'd get into one of the UC's I applied to (UCI, UCSB, UCSD, UCB, UCLA). I understand CSULB is still an amazing school but it's kind of close to where I live and I really want to have a fun college experience that includes living on campus. I still live far enough to the point where I'd have to live on campus but I'm not sure if CSULB could really provide me with what I'm looking for as a person who's been sheltered my whole life and is looking to be more social and have fun (gaining a good education is a top priority too though of course). Do you guys think I should just do two years of community college and transfer to a UC or attend CSULB?
(I live in California and am interested in becoming a physical therapist if that helps anything)

Financial Aid Help!
So I made a housing change on the fafsa for cal state long beach and I decided to live on campus rather than living with my parents. I had already received a cal grant for $5,742 to help out with paying for school, but once I submitted a change for the school of attendance on the california student aid commision website, it says that there is an "unmet need below minimum." Also on the california commision website, the housing status still says "with parents." My school of attendance was set on SDSU and the cal grant was awarded for on campus housing, but once I changed the school of attendance, the award was no longer there. What's weird is that when I go to the submit school change tab and go to the school change simulator, the cal grant says it's awarded. What should I do?

Financial Aid-Cal Grant?
Hey! I was offered Cal Grant B about $7000 from CSULB. However, I received this email today
stating it is on hold because of the following:
Transfer Entitlement Institutional Verification Required by School Official, due to AB 840
Your Cal Grant is on hold due to Assembly Bill AB 840, which requires the Commission to issue Transfer Entitlement Award offers only on a preliminary basis. This bill requires the Commission to randomly select a minimum of 10% of the new and renewal Transfer Entitlement Awards for institutional verification of the student's eligibility. School verification will be required prior to the disbursement of funds and the Commission will have to seek repayment of any and all funds found to be improperly disbursed under the program.
The hold can only be released by a school official upon verification that you meet all the requirements for the Transfer Entitlement Award. To release this hold, and enable your school to disburse Cal Grant funds, you must consult with the financial aid office of the school currently on file.
Is it normal to receive this email or is this something bad?

Waitlisted at CSULB? No Email?
Hello! I was wondering if someone could help me figure this out.
I got waitlisted to Long Beach but I found out through the self service. It said they sent an email on how to accept the waitlist offer but I haven't recieved one in my inbox or spam. Do I just wait? Is there an essay I am supposed to write? Did they make a mistake? Also is there someone I can email?

Parents are making me go to community college
I got into a school I would love to go to, but my parents dont want me to go and they want me to go to community college. I get that it’s more expensive to go to a four-year, but I want to become a doctor, and community college, from what I have heard, is not conducive to that path. Also they want me to stay at home... but for what??? And also all the hard work and money they spent for my ap tests and act etc are gone to waste bc im not even going to go where i got in as a result of my efforts. Im confused and irritated.

I was accepted CSULB back in feb. and I liked the campus and everything I recently accepted their offer and paid for the housing deposit and SOAR. I just heard back from UCSD and got accepted. I am from San Diego so i would be staying my my home town. Can i withdraw my acceptance from long beach still ?
I am a biology major i feel like UCSD is the better choice since they have medical school and i would like to apply to ucsd medical school in the future. CSULB has a good program and a minor in forensic which i would like to get if i went there.
I am a bit torn in which is the better option.

Any transfer students that do not have a Confirmed Roommate yet?
I am transferring from Los Angeles Pierce College to CSULB this Fall 2018. My major is Biology.
I plan to live on campus, and people are in the process of choosing roommates right now. I do not know anybody at the school and I still do not have a confirmed roommate.
If I do not have one by the deadline (may 31st), I will automatically be matched. My "best matches" are 17 yr old freshman, and I'm over 21.
I don't mind at all, I just wanted to see my chances of finding somebody in a similar situation. I am also open to living off campus, if its cheaper and/or convenient (furnished for the most part is preferred).

Will my application be rescinded?
Ok so heres the story. I'm attending cal state long beach in the fall of 2018. I was accepted even though I got a d in my pre calculus Honors class in the fall of junior year. so in the spring of junior year they gave me regular pre calculus and got a b in the class however i still need to make up the d from first semester so my senior year in fall i took pre calculus and passed the first semester. However I am now in second semester of pre calculus which I am now failing due to family problems and I am now worrying whether my application willl be rescinded due to this.
